Check-In

Where have I been?!? Well, these past couples weekends have been filled with amazing family quality time! Yes, I have been blessed to be so busy with family, friends, and activities that fill my life with happiness and heart with joy. So while I have been MIA, I'm here to do a quick check-in because I keep trying to hold myself accountable to this blog and not go missing for months on end...like I did last summer.

Over these past few weeks I have taken an absurd amount of photographs, which makes me smile and sweat. Smile because I love being the person in the group with the camera and then later (that day or weeks later) look back and remember how fun that memory was. And sweat because I feel responsible to get these photos edited and out somewhere (to the shelter, to my family, to my own FB page, etc) but realize I've taken about 2,000 photos this month (yep, you read that correctly) and just a little reminder that I do work now. I have to keep reminding myself of this last part...I get paid to do something other than edit my own photos so I should really focus on getting sleep.

One of the family ventures we had recently was over at Matt's parents' place. What made it unique was that they have recently borrowed a pony from a friend (yep, you read that correctly too) in hopes to help our niece, Lillie, get used to being around horses. So what did her amazing set of grandparents do??? Got her her own (temporary) pony! Which caused me to grab the camera and extra battery because I knew I was going to get something good:
We started off in the barn brushing the pony...and warming Lillie up

Then it was off to the races!

Daddy, Lillie, and Papa

Teaching responsibility at a young age...put away and feed your own horse :)

She just couldn't get enough of going in and out of the barn

And climbing the hay stacks

HAHA! I have to laugh because this was when we were trying to get a family picture and this is apparently just what 2 year olds do!

A young photographer in the making

All-in-all it was a great afternoon. I have many more photos and happenings that I want to remember, so I'm going to try to carve out some time to spend here and get things "written" down.
