I am so flipping excited!
Since early December I have been volunteering at a local animal shelter as a dog walker and loving it! Honestly if you ever get an opportunity to volunteer with animals, just do it! It is so incredibly rewarding and not as "sad" as most people question me about.
Well over the past couple weeks I've been playing "email-tag" with the Volunteer Coordinator and yesterday we finally met up to discuss...
me taking animal photographs for the shelter's and for Petfinder's website!!!
I am so incredibly excited I could just pee ;)
I know it's going to be different than photographing my own dogs, who know the routine: "sit/lay still and look handsome and she'll be done soon"...but (most of ) these shelter animals don't know me from anyone else and likely haven't had to sit still for a photo shoot before.
So it will definitely challenge my skills and I've been reading everything I can find online about photographing animals...but most articles I find reference animals who at least know how to sit...unfortunately a lot of these dogs don't know that and I'll be photographing cats too!!! I've never tried a photo shoot out on a cat...I might have to stop by my parents' house for practice.
Until then, Stanley demonstrated how to lay patiently and look adorable :)
